Moving Day

Not just moving day. Or moving weekend. It's turning into a 4-day move.

We did move 90% of our stuff to the house by Sunday, but there's still that 10%, plus some of the stuff (a big pile) to be donated.

It felt really good to be in the house. We've already started calling it home. The front and back yards are so peaceful and lovely. I don't think the dogs have figured out yet that the yard is really theirs yet. They run around, but still focus on doing their business and not on playing. The weather has not been cooperative lately, either. It has been very cold and windy the last couple of days.

Of course, moving day (Saturday) was plagued by Murphy's Law. The U-haul wasn't ready on time. The power was out at the house and we had to spend the night at the apartment. So, the mattress had to be brought back to the apartment. Then put on top of the van the next day to go back to the house. We had to borrow my MIL's Pack-n-Play (formerly known as a playpen) for Baba. We were so lucky that my MIL helped with watching the baby part of the time.

The house is cluttered but beginning to take shape. We're still living out of boxes and suitcases. Slowly but surely, this place will become a home.
